Last day to request a distribution online

This is the last day to request a distribution or loan (if applicable) through the participant site until after the migration is complete. Requests must be made by 4:00 p.m. ET.

November 8

Last day distribution requests will be processed

This is the last day distribution requests received in good order will be processed until after the migration is complete.

November 9

Last day to request transactions

This is the last day to request transactions, including exchanges, until after the migration is complete. Requests must be made before 4:00 p.m. ET. Access to your online retirement account will also be paused as we begin the migration.

The migration begins

We're working to ensure the move to Ascensus is smooth and easy.

You'll experience a brief pause in access while we securely migrate your plan

Your assets will remain invested in the market during this period, but you'll be temporarily unable to make changes to your account.

Your investments, contribution amount, investment elections, and any loan arrangement (if applicable) will remain the same.*

If you're invested in a model portfolio, your investment allocation will remain the same.

Regain account access

Your Vanguard 403(b) Services account information and transaction capabilities are again available.

Log in at www.vanguard.com with your existing username and password to view your balance, confirm your savings rate is accurately reflected, and ensure your beneficiary information is up to date.

If applicable, re-establish or opt in to automatic account rebalancing by going to Shortcuts > Schedule and Automatic Rebalance.

Here's what you need to know.

In 2022, Newport became part of a unified organization with Ascensus, a premier tax-advantaged savings program provider.

Over the weekend of November 10, 2023, your Vanguard 403(b) Services account will move to the Ascensus recordkeeping and administrative services platform. We look forward to supporting you as you continue to save for retirement.

Many of the experiences and features you value today will remain the same. For instance:

  • You'll still call the same participant services phone number for help with your account
  • The username and password that you use to log into your account today will still work after your account moves to Ascensus
  • The web experience you're accustomed to will also be very similar once your account moves to Ascensus.

Nothing! There is no action needed on your part at this time. Your account will automatically be transferred to the Ascensus recordkeeping platform on November 10, 2023. If any action is required, you'll be informed. Your personal data will always be safe and secure. As a reminder, the website username and password that you use on vanguard.com today will still work.

Yes, however as we prepare to securely move your account to the Ascensus recordkeeping platform, there will be a short period of time during which you cannot request transactions. Refer to the Important dates section of this website for more details.

After the migration to the Ascensus recordkeeping platform all fund allocations must follow the same fund selection for each source.  All future investments will follow the direction you have established for your pre-tax contributions.  If you do not have fund allocations set for pre-tax, we will use your Roth or after-tax fund allocations for any future contributions.  If you only have profit sharing fund allocations, those will continue to be used going forward. Your current balance will remain in your current investment funds.
